CHINAMED PSORA CLEAR FORMULA NIU PI XUANG TE XIAO FANG

This formula was developed by Dr Zhou Qiming (1919 – 1992), from Dalian city, Liaoning province, who received third grade in the National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1990, for the development of his formula Yin Xiao Tang Pills for the treatment of Psoriasis. The formula was published in Collection of Renowned (Chinese) TCM DoctorsPrescriptions, Dalian Publishing Company, 1992.

Clinical trials conducted in China during the 1970s and 1980s showed consistently high effectiveness rates when this formula was taken over a period of three to six months (75%- 80%).

The formula addresses the major pathodynamics involved in psoriasis: Wind, Damp, Heat, Blood stasis and Heat Toxin. These factors tend to deplete the Blood and the Yin-Fluids over time. Therefore in protracted conditions it is often necessary to add formulas that nourish and move the Blood and regenerate the Body Fluids, as described above.

Ingredients:
– Lonicera japonica, flower 金銀花 502.7 mg
– Smilax glabra, rhizome 土茯苓 301.7 mg
– Spatholobus suberectus, stem 雞血藤 150.8 mg
– Forsythia suspensa, fruit 連翹 120.6 mg
– Luffa cylindrical, fruit vascular tissue (Loofah) 120.6 mg
– Angelica polymorpha, root 當歸 120.6 mg
– Rehmannia glutinosa, root 地黃 120.6 mg
– Paris polyphylla, rhizome 重樓 90.7 mg
– Sparganium stoloniferum, rhizome 三棱 90.5 mg
– Curcuma zedoaria, rhizome 莪術 90.5 mg
– Gleditsia sinensis, spine 皂角刺 90.5 mg

Dosage & Course of Treatment
– 6 – 10 capsules, twice daily.
– In the active and resting stages the dosage may be increased by 50 – 100%
– Continue treatment during the regressive stage.
– During the remission stage give the patient an appropriate constitutional formula.
– Diet and lifestyle changes are an important part of the treatment and should be continued lifelong.
– Safe to use long term.

Cautions & Contraindications
– Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).
– Avoid fried foods, hot spices, coffee and alcoholic drinks, hydrogenated fats, refined carbohydrates, dairy (bovine) foods, processed foods, etc.
