BLACK PEARL ZHUANG YANG YI JING WAN EPIMEDIUM & GINSENG – BP053

The major part of the formula consists of plant source medicinal substances that nourish the Kidney Essence and warm-tonify the Kidney Yang. All of these ingredients have been shown – either individually or in various combinations – to promote sexual function. In addition, there are herbs that tonify the Qi and nourish the Blood.

The former herbs promote the functional activities of the Spleen, which supports the replenishment of the Kidney Essence. The later group of herbs promote the function of the Liver (which ensures the smooth and even movement of the Qi and Blood throughout the body) as well as providing an additional substrate for the Kidney Essence.

– Paeonia lactiflora, root 白芍 23.1 mg
– Cornus officinalis, fruit 山茱萸 23.1 mg
– Morinda officinalis, root 巴戟天 23.1 mg
– Lycium barbarum, fruit 枸杞子 23.1 mg
– Eleutherococcus nodiflorus, root 刺五加 23.1 mg
– Cynomorium coccineum subsp. songaricum, stem 鎖陽 23.1 mg
– Polygala sibirica, root 遠志 15.4 mg
– Ligusticum striatum, root 川芎 15.4 mg
– Schisandra chinensis, fruit 五味子 15.4 mg
– Panax ginseng, root 人參 7.8 mg
– Cinnamomum cassia, stem bark 肉桂 7.8 mg

Dosage & Course of Treatment
– 8 – 12 pillules, 3 times daily, half to one hour away from food.
– In severe cases and in the early stages of treatment (first 3 – 4 weeks) the dosage may be increased to 16 pilluless, 3 times daily (or 24 pillules, 2 times daily).
– Course of treatment: 2 to 6 months, or ongoing at lower dosage.

Cautions & Contraindications
– Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. heparin, warfarin or aspirin), cardiac glycosides (e.g. digoxin), oral hypoglycaemic agents, insulin and phenelzine.
– Contains Panax ginseng; do not take caffeine containing beverages (e.g. tea, coffee, cola, gaurana) or radishes concurrently with this formula.
