CHINAMED MENS FORMULA NAN BAU

This is a modern formulation that is based on traditional principles as well as modern research. It is designed to assist in the restoration of normal sexual functioning in males with impotence or low libido.

According to traditional theory, loss of sexual functioning is due to deficiency of the Kidney Essence. This is generally accompanied with deficiency of the Kidney Yang. This leads to waning of the Fire of the Life Gate (ming men huo), together with insufficiency of the fluid secretions that are involved in reproduction. The former leads to difficulties with performance, while the later may lead to infertility.

Deficiency of the Kidney Essence is a relatively severe type of Kidney deficiency that may be caused by heredity, excessive sexual activity, poor diet, chronic illness, excessive work or strenuous physical activity without adequate rest or sleep. In addition, the Kidney Essence naturally declines with normal ageing.

In adults, one of the major consequences of Kidney Essence deficiency is sexual hypofunction. Once a man has experienced repeated failure of sexual functioning, performance anxiety may set in. This is recognised as a major hindrance to his future ability to successfully engage in sexual intercourse, in spite of a return to physiological normality. For this reason, this formula contains a synergistic group of herbs that soothe the Liver and calm the Spirit, to reduce stress and calm the emotions.

The major part of the formula consists of plant source medicinal substances that nourish the Kidney Essence and invigorate the Kidney Yang. These ingredients have been shown either individually or in various combinations to promote sexual function. The formula also includes herbs that tonify the Qi and promote the functional activities of the Spleen, which supports the replenishment of the Kidney Essence.

It is important to note that satisfactory sexual relations are part of the broader picture of a mature, harmonious relationship, which involves openness and sharing on all levels. Cautions & Contraindications
– Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. heparin, warfarin or aspirin), cardiac glycosides (e.g. digoxin), oral hypoglycaemic agents, insulin and MAO inhibitors (e.g. phenelzine) and uterine stimulants (e.g. oxytocin).
