CHINAMED NOURISH THE BLOOD FORMULA SI WU TANG

This formula was first recorded in the Formulary of the Tai Ping Welfare Dispensary Bureau (tai ping hui min he ji ju fang). It was originally prescribed for Liver Blood deficiency; however, it has since come to be used as the basis for prescriptions that treat generalized Blood deficiency as well as a broad range of disorders related to the state of the Blood.

It is commonly used for a variety of gynaecological disorders due to Blood deficiency. In addition, this formula may also be used for chronic diseases due to Wind (e.g. itchy skin conditions, dry and itchy eyes, joint pain) characterised by the standard features of Blood deficiency.

Ingredients:
– Rehmannia glutinosa, root 地黃 491.4 mg
– Angelica polymorpha, root 當歸 491.4 mg
– Paeonia lactiflora, root 白芍 491.4 mg
– Ligusticum striatum, rhizome 川芎 338.4 mg

– Lactation, insufficient
– Lesions, slow healing
– Menorrhagia
– Numbness and tingling in the extremities
– Palpitations
– Memory and concentration, poor
– Post partum weakness

Dosage & Course of Treatment
– 6 – 10 capsules, twice daily.
– In severe cases and in the early stages of treatment (first 1 -2 weeks) the dosage may be increased by 50%.
– Course of treatment: 2 to 4 months.

Cautions & Contraindications
– Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).
-Caution during the first trimester of pregnancy. If taking antibiotics, allow at least 90 minutes before taking this formula.
