CHINAMED QI MOVER FORMULA CHAI HU SHU GAN TANG
This formula (Chai hu Shu Gan San) was first recorded in the (Zhang) Jing-yues Complete Works (jing yue quan shu) by Zhang Jie-bin (a.k.a. Jing-yue), 1624. It is commonly used for the treatment of Liver Qi constraint with Qi stagnation and Blood stasis, which manifests clinically with a variety of disorders characterized by stress or emotional strain together with pain. The formula has been enhanced with the addition of Corydalis rhizome (yan hu suo) and Curcuma tuber (yu jin), to improve its analgesic action.
It has a broad range of applications for painful disorders due to stagnation of the Liver Qi leading to Blood stasis. This includes gynecological and psychological problems as well as those involving the liver, gallbladder or stomach, and also various types of neuralgia.

Dosage & Course of Treatment
– 6 – 10 capsules, twice daily.
In severe cases and in the early stages of treatment (first 1-2 weeks)
– The dosage may be increased by 50%.
– Course of treatment: 2 – 4 months.
Cautions & Contraindications
– Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).
– Caution for those on any type of sedative drug.
– Contraindicated for patients taking interferon.
– Contraindicated during pregnancy.
