Mode of Action – These herbs, including the Ayurvedic female tonic Shatavari, combine to provide a formulation which helps relieve the symptoms of menopause and provides nervine tonic activity.

Indications

Contraindications and Cautions
Contraindicated in pregnancy due to the presence of Sage. St Johns Wort affects the way some prescription medicines work. Concurrent administration of high doses of St John?s Wort is contraindicated with the following drugs: warfarin, digoxin, immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin, indinavir (HIV protease inhibitor), nevirapine (HIV nonnucleoside transcriptase inhibitor), phenprocoumon, nifedipine, methadone, finasteride, cancer chemotherapeutic drugs such as irinotecan and calcium channel antagonists such as verapamil. Caution is advised in patients taking anticonvulsants, combined oral contraceptives, theophylline, SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), ntihistamines, benzodiazepines, oxycodone, omeprazole, hypoglycaemic drugs, methylphenidate, ivabradine, talinolol and voriconazole. Caution is advised in patients taking statin drugs, monitor blood cholesterol regularly. It is possible for St Johns Wort to interact with amitriptyline by reducing the level of the drug and it is advisable to monitor patients also taking this medication. Caution is advised in patients with known clopidogrel resistance. Contraindicated in patients taking phenelzine. Consume at least 2 hours away from ingestion of mineral supplements. May cause hyperaesthesia in some sensitive individuals especially when combined with a high exposure to sunlight. St Johns Wort is not advisable in cases of known photosensitivity. Patients taking high doses should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and UV radiation. Best avoided in patients with oestrogen-dependent tumours such as breast cancer, until more information is available regarding possible oestrogenic activity of the product. Caution in patients with pre-existing cholestasis. In very rare cases black cohosh has been associated with liver failure. If you are experiencing yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dark urine, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, and/or loss of appetite, you should stop using this product and see your doctor. Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.

Dosage and Administration
– Adults: 1 tablet 3-4 times daily.
